Billing Clerk/Data Analyst
Lewis County REC is seeking a Billing Clerk/Data Analyst to join our team. We are a member-owned, not for profit distribution cooperative that supplies electric service to our members in Northeast Missouri. Lewis County REC serves over 7,300 meters in Lewis, Clark, Knox counties as well as portions of Macon, Marion, Scotland and Shelby counties.
Position Summary
The Billing Clerk/Data Analyst will be responsible for our monthly billing processes of members accounts, provide a high level of member service, and be able to use analytics/business intelligence tools to collect, organize, interpret and analyze cooperative data.

Qualifications
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of experience.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Billing Clerk/Data Analyst
Objectives:
• Responsible for monthly billing processes of members accounts.
• Provides a high level of customer service to our members through personal and telephone contact.
• Develop and provide data analysis and reporting capabilities
Responsibilities:
• Able to use analytics/business intelligence tools to collect, organize, interpret and analyze cooperative data.
• Assist in the development of reports as assigned by LCREC personnel
• Monthly billing processes
• Ensures meters are reading correctly in preparation for monthly billing cycle.
• Assists with rate schedules
• Updates tax rates on consumer’s accounts
• Prepares tax reports
• Daily balancing of payments received
• Prepare audit worksheets for accounts receivable, billing and capital credits; and assist the auditors with fieldwork.
• Provides superior customer service
• Backup other positions in the office.
• Prepares special reports as requested by management.
Other Duties:
• Attend and participate in safety and employee meetings
• Attend and participate in member’s annual meeting as assigned.
• Attend training programs as assigned.
• Follow the Cooperative’s policies and procedures as set down by management and the Board of Directors.
• Conducts oneself in such a manner that promotes a harmonious working relationship with all LCREC personnel, members, the public, consultants, vendors or other businesses.
• Performs other duties and assist other personnel as assigned.
Relationships:
Internal-
• Report to and operates under the direction of the CFO
• Cooperate with all departments and personnel to provide assistance and information as required.
• Maintain a good attitude and relations with other employees in all necessary dealings.
• Directs: non-supervisory position.
External:
• Membership - maintain a good attitude and relations with all members in all necessary dealing.
• General public – maintain a good attitude and relations in all contacts with the general public.
• Other Utilities and Power Supplies – maintain a courteous and positive relation in all contacts with other utilities and power suppliers. Communicate effectively to answer/resolve questions and issues.
Education and Experience/Job Knowledge:
• A minimum of an AA Degree, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field or equivalent years of experience.
• Experience with database management systems or analytics/business intelligence tools preferred.
• Must be proficient with the following: computer/mobile device, Microsoft products and email correspondence, and basic office equipment.
• Must have knowledge of or willingness to learn cooperative specific applications.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Must be knowledgeable of the Cooperative’s service rules and regulations and policies.
Abilities and Skills:
• Must have a high degree of initiative; be a self starter; strong level of accountability and ownership.
• Must have knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
• Must have the ability to work unsupervised and be able to complete a variety of diverse tasks, organize work and meet deadlines.
• Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze data with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Position requires attention to detail and accuracy with proven ability in problem solving techniques.
• Must be able to follow directions, prioritize job tasks, use judgment in making decisions and work without close supervision or direction.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of any information received through any business affairs.
• Must be able to work outside normal business hours.
• Must be to work on time and have regular and reliable attendance.
• Must be able to work as a team or individually.
• Must be able to read, comprehend job-related paperwork, company publications and safety information.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License, and a Class E license will be required within three months of employment.
• Must be able to pass random drug test.
Working Conditions:
• Primarily office work.
• Position requires sitting, standing, reading, writing, hearing and talking on a regular basis.
• Occasional travel for trainings and meetings.
• Tobacco free environment.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment up to 20 pounds.
